As Autumn nears, we will be seeing the implementation of the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation’s Workers’ Compensation Automation and Integration System (WCAIS).
Its intent is to modernize through computerization the workers’ compensation process throughout Commonwealth offices. It is a Web-based system that will enable electronic communication, online filing, document management and around-the-clock access to information.
By Autumn, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board and Workers’ Compensation Helpline will allow online to some claims. By Autumn 2013, both the Bureau and its Judges offices will be brought in.
In the long term, both injured workers and their counsels will be able to access information online about their workers’ compensation claims.
