NOTICE – ATF Marking Variance Email Not Working

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced today that it’s marking variance email address of marking_variances@atf.gov has not been working since August 2, 2013. Although the ATF is aware of the problem, they have been unable to fix it. Therefore, all Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) who manufacturer or importer firearms should now submit their requests to fipb@atf.gov, until the issue can be resolved.

If you submitted a marking variance request on or after August 2, 2013, it is unlikely that the ATF received your request. Therefore, you should resubmit your request to the FIPB.

When the issue is resolve with marking_variances@atf.gov, the ATF will notify all manufacturers and importers
