An Awakening Pt 3: Deep State vs. MAGA Movement – The Battle for Pennsylvania’s Future

This article is one that was written, revised, revised 10 more times, placed on the shelf, and now resurrected, as I spent some time quietly doing some introspection on everything going on in Pennsylvania politics and what role – if any – I am supposed to have in it all. As many of you know, I absolutely loathe politics and the *only* reason I ever got involved in state, county, and local politics was because I was forced to, in order to run for a statewide judicial position in ’23. While I could write an entire article on why Pennsylvania law is ass-backwards and judicial candidates should be foreclosed in running under any political platform, that is not the purpose of this article.

But like every article, I’m never sure where to begin because of the sheer amount of information to unpack, in this instance, regarding the Deep State’s chess moves to eradicate through assimilation true conservative, grassroots, and patriots groups in Pennsylvania (which I will hereinafter refer to as the “MAGA groups”). And the absolute hardest part of writing this article – and anticipated future articles – is knowing that I will likely lose friends, merely the result of speaking the truth, because, as my dear friend Justin Vititoe recently discussed (which I strongly recommend you watch), we have been conditioned to pick a side, instead of looking inward as to where we, ourselves, stand on any particular issue, regardless of the position being taken by those we love, respect, or support. And I speak from experience, having lost two friends during the recent primary because I had the *audacity* to publish a post simply inquiring of whether Stacy Garrity had really recorded robocalls – throwing statewide MAGA candidates under the bus – and asking anyone with a recording of it to send it to me, because, at the time, I couldn’t believe, after her promise to me that she wouldn’t do anything to support the Deep State candidates in this election cycle, that she would’ve agreed to record the robocalls. Quite honestly, I initially thought that it was Ai-generated. Regardless, to some in the Garrity-cult, no greater sin could be committed because they knew the truth – she had – and they felt they had to pick a side, instead of simply taking a step back, acknowledging what she did, making a decision for themselves as to whether her action comported with their own views – regardless of their relationship with her – and if not, holding her accountable in an appropriate manner.

With this backdrop, over the past month and half, I’ve been overwhelmed by the number of MAGA groups and individuals, throughout this Commonwealth, reaching out to me for guidance about what to do in the upcoming November election and in ‘26, because they no longer know who to trust and feel that something far larger is amiss, although they haven’t been able to place their finger on it. When I politely responded back with “why are you asking me, I’m just an unsuccessful – emphasis on unsuccessful – statewide candidate,” I received back, time after time, an almost identical reply: you’ve earned our respect because of your proven morals, ethics, and integrity and resultantly, we believe you will only tell us what you believe to be in the best interest of the cause. And it was those consistent and resounding responses that have caused me to once again become involved in that which I loathe.

And with that, the question you’re likely thinking is why do they no longer know who to trust and perhaps more importantly is something far larger amiss?

To answer the first question, we have to go back to before the ’25 primary. During that time, they saw the PaGOP and future endorsed Commonwealth Court candidate acquiesce to the bribing and threatening of state committee members, and in violation of the PaGOP’s covenant with its members, endorse in the primary, where the endorsed Superior Court candidate espoused DEI principles, while the endorsed Commonwealth Court candidate’s background includes, among other things, a revoked NJ license to practice law, criminal convictions (one in absentia), a long history of representing the Department of Environmental Protection against the People, and during his PCN interview, in response to a question regarding his judicial philosophy, stating that in interpreting the constitution “you start by reading it, you understand what the intent originally was, and to the extent it still makes sense to apply that intent, that’s what you do.” Nothing like running a candidate who believes that a judge should decide whether your constitutional rights still make sense to him…but I digress. Thereafter, they saw the PaGOP and endorsed Commonwealth Court candidate, once again, acquiesce while a false video was shared, freshly ripping open wounds of a grieving family, without concern, all for political gain. And then there was the PaGOP misleading sportsmen by mimicking the orange NRA endorsement card and contending that their endorsed candidates were the defenders of the Second Amendment, when neither have ever litigated a single case in support of it…

And post-primary, after MAGA Superior Court candidate Maria Battista was successful, contrary to the Party supporting the successful Republican candidates as the PaGOP Bylaws require, the PaGOP has only provided its successful endorsed Commonwealth Court candidate with a calendar of events and fundraisers across this Commonwealth, has made sure that fundraisers know not to work with Maria, and taken other, behind-the-scenes actions in an attempt to prevent Maria from being successful in November. That’s right – it’s all hands on deck for the PaGOP to ensure Maria loses, regardless the cost, because she’s the MAGA, non-Deep State candidate. And it isn’t just the PaGOP, some county chairs are doing likewise to Maria.

But no longer knowing who to trust is not merely in relation to the PaGOP. The MAGA movement has always been leery of and had issues with the PaGOP (although the new leadership has amplified that 1000%). Rather, it is a combination of this new, far more radical PaGOP (which I will discuss more below in relation to the second question), and individuals which were previously believed to be MAGA supporters that have turned their back on the cause. First, there was Ted Christian, who announced he was running for PaGOP chairman with over a $100k in his war chest thanks to Paul Martino, only for him to not just drop out two weeks later, when Rothman announced his candidacy, but to throw his middle finger up to the cause and Martino, by then acting as a political adviser to Rothman in the chair race, while keeping the $100k. MAGA groups were left absolutely shocked and stunned by this betrayal.

And the second shoe to drop was when Stacy Garrity, who had been considered to be “the grassroots candidate” and beyond reproach in her morals, ethics, and integrity, plunged a knife into the back of the MAGA groups by recording robocalls for the Deep State endorsed candidates, after stating, in no uncertain words, that she wasn’t going to do anything for them this cycle. Once again, everyone was absolutely shocked and stunned, wondering how this could possibly be and why. And we likely learned the answer to that question earlier this week, when Dan Meuser, just a couple weeks after receiving words of encouragement from President Trump and a promise of support, dropped out of the race, out of the blue – just like Ted Christian – and discussions began occurring amongst the Deep State operatives about having an early – i.e. August 2025 – PaGOP state committee endorsement vote for governor. It doesn’t exactly take a rocket scientist to ascertain what Garrity was seemingly promised in exchange for selling her soul for political gain.

In turning to whether something FAR larger is amiss, it is. Beyond the lies, deceit, and misinformation that I’ve already relayed above, an extremely well-crafted plan was implemented at least a year before the PaGOP re-organizational meeting. The plan, among other things, first set its focus on the re-organizational meeting. It was determined that what they needed to do was have a putative-MAGA candidate announce his candidacy, and wait a couple weeks, before the Deep State candidate announced his candidacy. At that point, in short order, the putative-MAGA candidate would drop out of the race, leaving only the Deep State candidate, with no time for any other candidate to enter the fray. And it would’ve worked – in fact, I’ve received two reports of Rothman boasting as much during meetings relative to his then-candidacy – but for a miscalculation and Ted dropping out ~2 week too early. That miscalculation gave just enough of a window for a true MAGA candidate, Bill Bachenberg, to enter the race. While Bill was, unfortunately, not successful (potentially due to the bribing and threatening of state committee members prior to the vote, which he documented), it threw a major monkey wrench into the Deep State’s plans, as there was never supposed to be a “chair race” and none of Rothman’s past – such as being convicted of an Election Law violation, twice donating $2,500 to Democrat Ed Rendell’s campaign, then miraculously, him receiving a pardon of his conviction, and more recently his donation to Democrat Eugene DePasquale’s campaign, as well as, a lot of insider trading/benefits as the former-Cumberland Co GOP Chair and a lot more – was ever supposed to get out, especially since his support of a Democrat, per the PaGOP Bylaws, would seemingly make him ineligible to be seated as chair. But that is an article – or perhaps a lawsuit – for another day.

The second part of the plan, after securing the chairmanship, was for Cold Spark – the political consulting firm – to take over the PaGOP, which occurred in extremely short order of Rothman being elected. Virtually all PaGOP employees were terminated and all control was turned over to Cold Spark – meaning, if you want to run for a statewide position and don’t retain Cold Spark to be your political consultant, you will not be the PaGOP candidate, period. And an entire article could be written on Cold Spark’s abysmal track-record and support of Democratic candidates, but that too is for another day.

Once the first and second part were implemented, it was on to part three, which I’ll refer to as the smoke-and-mirrors portion. This is where they purposely lie, deceive, and misrepresent things to their members, especially the MAGA contingent, until they can lull them into false belief that we’re all one and the same. It starts with things such as not only promoting their endorsed candidates as the grassroots candidates at events like the PA Leadership Conference (PLC), but convincing the previously conservative-PLC to not only announce the endorsed candidates as the grassroots candidates and provide them an opportunity to speak, but to also preclude the true grassroots candidates from even being mentioned, let alone speak. And of course, the PaGOP took a photo opportunity of the candidates speaking at PLC to push out to members in an attempt to deceive MAGA members into believing those individuals were the grassroots candidates, since they were speaking at PLC, when nothing could be further from the truth.

Of course, that’s no different than the blatantly misleading NRA-esque postcards, which I mentioned previously. Another example is the upcoming Rally at the Rock, which was started and continues to be run by ultra-MAGA Doug McLinko, but if you’ve received the communications from the PaGOP inviting you to the event, you’d think it is the PaGOP’s event. And it’s only a matter of time until it is, because, after all, as far as the Deep State PaGOP is concerned, resistance is futile; MAGA will be assimilated. And these are but a couple examples of the examples, since this article is already getting too long.

Succinctly stated, for anyone who has seen the latest installment of Mission Impossible, where Ai takes over the world’s computers and information services and causes a world war by purposely putting out false information, Ai doesn’t have anything on the PaGOP’s disinformation campaign and its aimed at assimilating MAGA into the Deep State…

While part three is being implemented, a fourth part of the plan is instituted – take over MAGA county GOPs. And this part of the plan is currently being implemented. In fact, beyond individual MAGA committee members being purged in multiple counties for legally unsupportable bases, the PaGOP, in the absence of any authority under its Bylaws, has notified Lawrence County, and somewhere between at least 5 and 6 other county GOPs, that it is taking over the re-organizational meetings (and, of course, ensuring the installment of its operatives, but that’s the quiet part said out loud). Better yet, pursuant to the Bylaws, even though the county chair presides over the re-organizational meeting, the chair was never notified of a date of the re-organizational meeting and only found out about the date from a Facebook post of an elected official, who is aligned with Cold Spark. You simply cannot make this stuff up, folks…

Part five of plan is instituted once the Deep State’s control of the PaGOP cannot be, in their opinion, legitimately challenged. At that point, they will start only running even more neo-con and liberal candidates. In fact, I’ll let you in on a little secret: this all needs to be complete by the end of ’26, as they already intend to endorse extremely early in the ’28 Presidential race and intend to be the first, in the Country, to endorse and that the endorsed candidate will be Nikki Hailey, in an attempt to thwart JD Vance.

So, if you aren’t already sick to your stomach and are still interested in my opinion on what to do in the upcoming November election and in ‘26, let me start by going back to where I started – you need to decide for yourself – without consideration for the opinion of those you love, respect, or support – what is right, based on your own moral, ethical, and MAGA compass.

With that said, in relation to this November, while there are a number of options, before I get to them, I am going to implore you to support Maria Battista by donating to her candidacy for the Superior Court. Simply stated, MAGA must, at all cost, ensure that she is successful in November, regardless of all the hurdles that the Deep State is throwing before her. She is our beacon of light, in these trying times.

In relation to other options, I know many MAGA Groups are discussing writing in Mickey Mouse, or some other name, in relation to Commonwealth Court, in order to send a message to the PaGOP. If that’s what is decided, it is imperative that all get on the same page as to the name and spelling, in order to make a statement. Perhaps the better option is to form a coalition, pursuant to an agreement of understanding, with the Independent Block (Libertarians, Constitutional, and We the People parties, along with, “not affiliated”) and run a third-party candidate (as there is until August 1 to file nomination papers), since it is the Independent Block that determines who wins and who loses in Pennsylvania. During my candidacy, I not only was welcomed to their meetings and had wonderful conversations with these groups, but was honored to receive their support and unequivocal statement that “[w]hether or not his name appears on the November ballot as a major party nominee, we will cast our votes for him in the general election.” If a truly principled candidate were to step forward and be successful in filing nominating papers, I believe the Independent Block would support him/her in November.

In relation to ’26, I will say this: When I was in law school, I had an esteemed professor – a former U.S. Attorney for the Virgin Islands – who explained to us that when we left those hallowed halls, we would, day in and day out, be confronted with situations where we would have to make decisions that could jeopardize our character. And he likened it to a coin that we carry around, where we can elect to always keep it in our pocket or to spend it. But if we spent it, we would never get it back.

With that background, absent a member of the Trump family entering the race (the concern of which is also spurring the Deep State’s desire for a quick gubernatorial endorsement vote in August), it would seem that MAGA groups need to even more seriously consider forming a coalition with the Independent Block and running a third-party candidate, as one thing is for sure, if the candidate obtains the requisite signatures for his/her nomination petition, the candidate is guaranteed to be on the ballot in November… Perhaps it is the time for more candidates to run as third-party candidates in order to give Pennsylvanians a true choice in November; not one that is shoved down their throats by Party elites.

In closing, while I recognize that a lot of this is bleak, we cannot lose hope. There are those of us that cannot be bought. Those of us who understand that once we sell our soul, there is no getting it back; you are forever beholden. And those, who will not compromise their morals, ethics, and integrity for anything, are which the Deep State fears the most and will ensure – to the extent possible – that they’re never successful or in a position of power, because they know those individuals will out them and hold them accountable, instead of cover for them. Those are our candidates. They’re the MAGA candidates and for them, we’ll never give up the fight, because if we do, all will be lost.

  1. Josh, can you give me more info (link) on Garrity betraying MAGA. I’m trying to run for Governor and the media is ignoring me.

    Thx

  2. I have run as an independent candidate for the Pennsylvania State House.  The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania would later prosecute me for going on long Sunday morning runs with criminal intentions.  The key witness for the Commonwealth was my township republican leader who claimed I was a gun threat while out for a run.  I was never questioned or interviewed by law enforcement, because I am a Veteran they assumed I was a gun owner (which I am not).  The case provided no evidence that I went on long Sunday morning runs with criminal intentions, and the assigned prosecutor lost all copies of a witness statement claiming knowledge of my gun ownership, and the video was the purported reason for the filing of the criminal charge became unavailable.  The judge decided not to lecture the prosecutor and police about Brady v. Maryland Rights, or that destroying evidence is a crime, but focused on me suggesting I not go for Sunday morning runs in my neighborhood.  Guilty until proven innocent.  Here is the judge lecturing me in an excerpt from the court’s audio record.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VBm7uj8RgxgF9fI6bqwFLhJsLx0-vAOm/view?usp=drive_link
