Earlier this week the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) opened the application window for their 2026 Shooting Range Improvement Program (SRIP) Grants. Similar to years past, PGC is advertising that $500,000 will be awarded to applicants, with a maximum of $50,000 per applicant – although that does not guarantee that every applicant will receive a grant, or that every applicant who does receive a grant will receive the maximum amount.
Eligible organizations include existing shooting ranges and clubs, recreational shooting organizations, archery clubs, and educational groups, however, to be eligible, they must be able to demonstrate public use of existing facilities. Examples of public use can include public range time, educational and training outreach programs, or organized matches. Applicants who receive grants would also be required to maintain certain levels of public use for the lifetime of the project for which they receive a grant.
This is a great opportunity for Clubs and Ranges with a need for new facilities, equipment, infrastructure, or programming to get a helping hand!
For more information about eligible organizations and project types, to see examples of projects and organizations that were previously awarded grants, or to apply for one of the SRIP Grants, check out this page on the PGC’s website. Applications are due May 8, 2026 and that deadline will come faster than you think.
