The US Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) has formed the USCCALegal Defense Foundation, Inc. to provide members with protection in the event the member is required to use deadly force. Named Self-Defense Shield, it is a insurance policy, owned by the USCCA, that designated the members as beneficiaries. Depending on the level of membership (Silver PLUS, Gold PLUS, or Platinum PLUS) will determine the level of insurance benefit that the individual can receive in for legal fees incurred in relation to a self-defense shooting.
With the Platinum PLUS level of membership, the member has a $300,000 civil liability limit, $75,000 criminal liability, with access to a $75,000 criminal defense grant (if approved by the USSCA Legal Defense Foundation) and additional grants for Court-related expenses. To learn more about the different levels of protection and how you can benefit, see the USCCA website here.
