FICG Files Letter Against Washington Township (Northampton County) Moving Forward with Discharge Ordinance

Firearms Industry Consulting Group (FICG), a division of Prince Law Offices, P.C., has submitted a letter in response to Washington Township’s desire to move forward with an ordinance prohibiting the discharge of firearms in the township.

Letter to Washington Township

A full copy of the letter can be found here.

The background to this proposed ordinance is that a resident purportedly complained to the Board of Supervisors regarding reports of gunfire on Mark Dylan Drive. As reported by Reporter Ondrusek, “A problem concerning a neighbor’s target shooting was brought to supervisors during the July meeting by residents living on Mark Dylan Drive.” Reporter Ondrusek goes on to state, “The township planning commission will hold a series of meetings, starting in October, to listen to residents concerns and opinions about creating a firearms ordinance. The dates have not been determined.”

The Board will meet on October 9, 2013. As reflected above, FICG has voiced opposition to any ordinance; however, FICG is asking everyone to attend the meeting and make your voice heard. If any Ordinance is passed, FICG welcomes any residents of Washington Township to contact us to discuss the possibility of bring suit against the Township.
