You never know when an accident will occur. I was a janitor. I always wore safety glasses. For 17 years nothing happened. Then one time someone on the shift before me cleaned a urinal with bleach unbeknownst to me. I came in and used an ammonia cleaner. Both combined to form a WW1 explosive poison gas called phosgene. It exploded in my face . Since I was wearing eye protection it didn`t blind me. If inhaled it can also damage your lungs. You have to protect yourself . Many employers don`t enforce safety procedures.
