At Long Last, Licensed

It is with great pleasure that I am finally able to announce that I have been formally admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania and Maryland and am licensed to practice law without restriction in both states.

2020 has been a year for the record books in ways we never could have anticipated. Earlier this year I wrote two articles (here and here) for our readers on the impact COVID-19 was having on the licensing process for new attorneys. At the time, I had already passed the Uniform Bar Exam (not recognized by Pennsylvania) under typical bar exam conditions, and was watching the usual procedure quickly unravel as the summer progressed. The Pennsylvania Bar Exam was postponed from July to September, and then again to October. Somewhere in the mix it was transitioned to be entirely online, the format and length changed, and anti-cheat monitoring software mandated. I won’t get into the exam itself; suffice to say that it was an unpleasant mixed bag.

I began studying for the first of my two exams last December, and while I knew licensing would not be a quick process, I never imagined it would consume the entirety of 2020. Here’s to a smoother 2021, I wish you all a Happy and Safe New Year.

  1. Welcome to Berks Dillon! (I know you will cover a lot other counties but this my county) I have only worked with Mr. Prince but I read all the news letters. He gave me very powerful advice and help. He was right about everything and I’m forever thankful. I wish you a prosperous and fruitful future with a good group of other lawyers.

    Best Wishes, Charlie Trexler
